Linux Quality Assurance Engineer

  • Main responsibilities:
    • Debugs software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for company products.
    • Develops and executes software test plans.
    • Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures.
    • Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.
    • Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.
    • Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems.
    • Works on moderately complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
    • Exercises good judgment and initiative to determine appropriate action.
    • Has sufficient understanding of subject area to advise and provide guidance within area of expertise.
    • Generally works independently on tasks with moderate guidance on complex issues.
  • Requirements:
    • University degree.
    • Strong skills and background in Linux.
    • Familiar with a wide variety of packages in the Red Hat distribution.
    • Self-starting and ability to work under pressure.
    • Understanding of testing processes and ad-hoc testing methods.
    • Previous software testing experience.
    • Programming skills in C and scripting languages (bash, perl, and python).
    • Database programming, sysadmin experience, or RHCE certification is a plus.
    • Good English language speaking, writing, and reading skills.
