Quality Assurance Engineer – Base OS/Update Release Testing

When a new release comes out from Red Hat do you immediately race off to see if it can be installed on your favorite hardware?  Do you find sport in writing kickstart configuration files which yield the smallest footprint installation?  If so, add a fedora to your hat collection.

Red Hat is looking for test engineers to search for, analyze, report and track defects in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora project.

Responsibilities include developing test scripts, executing test cases, debugging software defects and executing and monitoring automated test tools, primarily for Anaconda, the Red Hat installer.

  • Requirements
  • Relevant university IT degree or equivalent work experience
  • Software test experience is advantage and preferable
  • Strong skills and background in Linux, in particular Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora
  • Familiar with a wide variety of operating system components
  • Self-starting and ability to work under pressure
  • Experience in python programing language (scripting/debugging)
  • Database programming, system administration experience
  • Open source community involvement a plus
  • Familiarity with Anaconda a plus
  • RHCE certification a plus
  • Systematic work ability
  • Driven, Creative and Result Oriented
  • Communicative knowledge of English, both written and spoken
