JSF/Seam Web Developer

  • Summary

As a community infrastructure developer for jboss.org, you will be responsible for developing and expanding our online collaboration and development capabilities provided by Magnolia, Clearspace, and JIRA. You'll also help to develop and maintain in-house applications to consolidate information from multiple systems as well as work with the rest of the team to deliver a modern, attractive, and intuitive web presence.

The goal is to promote and increase community collaboration and development efforts around the JBoss projects.

Primary focus is on Java EE development with additional exposure to web-related technologies including XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Freemarker Template Language. Clustering knowledge and skills are highly desirable as the goal is to run a clustered solution for load-balancing and high-availability.

As part of the JBoss Community team you will play a key role in helping to further the adoption of JBoss projects and shape the future landscape of Enterprise Java.

  • Requirements
  • Relevant university IT degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ideally 2-4 years work experience.
  • Java Web Development (Servlets, JSP).
  • JavaServer Faces, Facelets, JavaScript.
  • Communicative knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of how to use an issue tracking system (JIRA preferred).
  • Knowledge of how to use a revision control system (Subversion preferred).
  • Working knowledge of databases and ability to write SQL (MySQL experience a plus).
  • Previous experience with JBoss AS/JBoss EAP 4.x (Magnolia/Clearspace/JIRA experience a plus).
  • Ability to fix and solve problems.
  • Ability to work independently once goals have been established.
  • Interest in helping to increase collaboration and development efforts around JBoss projects.
