JBoss J2EE Test Developer – EAP

The JBoss Quality Engineering team at Red Hat is seeking a strong Java/J2EE resource to assume all aspects of quality responsibilities for the JBoss portfolio of middleware products, including the development of automated tests for API's, GUI's, clustering, performance, and database compatibility.
This opportunity will enable a mid-level Java developer to gain a deeper understanding of a variety of popular Java middleware technologies including Java EE & ESB, and newer technologies such as JBoss Rules, Seam and AOP.
- Develop new tests for JBoss products, including system, integration and unit tests - most tests are Java middleware applications
- Act as an internal advocate for customers, including Java middleware developers, system administrators and IT managers
- Analyze and prioritize the quality risks posed by the JBoss portfolio of middleware products and determine the tests required to mitigate the risks
- Assist in test automation and execution
- Clearly document new bugs and advocate their resolution with developers, then explain the bugs impact on customers and their business
- Foster & cultivate relationships with the JBoss core developers and earn credibility by displaying expertise in Java, middleware and our JBoss portfolio of middleware products
- Must have 2+ years of Java development experience building J2EE applications
- Experience EJB, Servlets, Struts, JSP, etc.
- Backend experience in Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, MySQL
- JUnit & Cactus and/or another enterprise Java testing framework
- Experience packaging and deploying applications with Ant and Maven
- Experience with Linux & Unix operating systems
- Familiarity with Shell and Perl scripting
- Experience writing system, integration or unit tests
- Good communications skills
- Proficient in a major IDE such as Eclipse, Netbeans or IDEA (preferred)
- Experience with open source testing tools (preferred)
- Good knowledges of English [Oral and Written]
