JBoss Desktop TEST Developer

This is a test development position on the JBoss QE team at Red Hat. You will be responsible for all aspects of quality for JBoss products including developing new automated tests for API's, GUI's, and database compatibility. We are looking for a candidate who can think creatively, and adapt to rapid change. This position provides an opportunity to gain a deep understanding of a variety of popular Java GUI technologies including SWT, as well as JBoss middleware technology.
- Develop new tests for JBoss Developer Studio, including tests for tools delivered with JBoss middleware projects.
- Act as an internal advocate for our customers -- Java desktop and middleware developers, system administrators and IT managers.
- Analyze and prioritize the quality risks posed by JBoss products. Determine the tests required to mitigate these risks.
- Assist in test automation and execution.
- Clearly document new bugs and advocate their resolution with developers. Communicate the bugs impact on customers and their business.
- Develop credibility and rapport with JBoss core developers by displaying expertise in JBoss products and Java desktop and middleware in general.
- Bachelors Degree and 2 years or more experience with:
- Java Desktop Development
- XML processing
- Writing build scripts in Ant or Maven
- SVN or CVS
- Shell scripting in Linux
- Limited exposure to JEE world
- Experience writing system, integration or unit tests
- Good knowledges of English [Oral and Written]
- Proficient in a major IDE such as Eclipse, Netbeans or IDEA
- Proficient in SWT GUI toolkit
- Experience with Eclipse plug-in development
- Experience with automated GUI testing
- Experience with open source testing tools
