JBoss Business Component TEST Developer

This is a test development position on the JBoss QE team at Red Hat. You will be responsible for all aspects of quality for JBoss products including developing new automated tests for API's, GUI's, clustering, performance, and database compatibility. We are looking for a candidate who can think creatively, and adapt to rapid change. This position provides an opportunity to gain a deep understanding of a variety of popular Java middleware technologies including Java EE, and ESB, as well as new technology such as JBoss Rules, Seam and AOP.

  • Develop new tests for JBoss products, including system, integration and unit tests. Most of our tests are Java middleware applications.
  • Act as an internal advocate for our customers – Java middleware developers, system administrators and IT managers.
  • Analyze and prioritize the quality risks posed by JBoss products. Determine the tests required to mitigate these risks.
  • Assist in test automation and execution.
  • Clearly document new bugs and advocate their resolution with developers. Communicate the bugs impact on customers and their business.
  • Develop credibility and rapport with JBoss core developers by displaying expertise in JBoss products and Java middleware in general.
  • Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree and 2 years or more experience with:
  • Java and J2EE Development
  • Commercial experience with EJB2/3
  • Commercial experience with JPA/Hibernate
  • Commercial experience with Web Services
  • Databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, MySQL
  • Writing build scripts in Ant or Maven
  • SVN or CVS
  • Shell scripting in Linux
  • Experience writing system, integration or unit tests.
  • Good knowledges of English [Oral and Written]
  • Preferred
  • Proficient in a major IDE such as Eclipse, Netbeans or IDEA
  • Experience with middleware products besides JBoss
  • Experience with open source testing tools

  • JCA
