J2EE Test Automation Engineer

- Main responsibilities:
The JBoss Test Automation Engineer is primarily responsible for automating project test suites in our test grid, reviewing the results of test runs, and raising bugs based on the results. This position presents an opportunity to gain a deep understanding of open source middleware and be part of a growing software development organization. A good candidate will have a strong background in Computer Science and demonstrable Java programming skills.
- Automate existing unit, integration and system tests into our Hudson test grid using Ant & bash.
- Debug test failures and do root cause analysis to determine failure conditions.
- Report and track test execution in online test tracking database.
- Write clear and concise bug reports; work with core developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Setup, execute and analyze multi-node tests focused on performance, stress and failover.
- Execute manual tests such as GUI, installation, and administrative tests.
- Install and configure software packages such as databases and other application servers on Linux, Unix and Windows.
- Remotely maintain and administer QA lab servers and software.
- Job requirements:
- Computer science degree or currently a computer science student.
- Java programming skills and experience.
- User level experience with Linux, Unix and Windows.
- Scripting capabilities with popular scripting languages such as Ant, Bash, etc.
- Knowledge of SQL and databases.
- Minimally basic communicative level of English.
- Knowledge of virtualization software.
- J2EE knowledge or experience.
- JUnit or TestNG.
